I figured out a way to remove the letterbox in games and if this worked for me, It might work for you so listen up (This only works for NVIDIA Users only and I am not sure for AMD users but you can try to figure out like i did but in your AMD Control Panel. It is slightly better, but I still get random giant frame drops. I tried enabling Triple Buffer in the Nvidia control panel. So there is no reason I shouldn't be able to destroy this game in performance, buuut, no, if I play at 1080p, I can't play smoothly at all. GTX 1080ti, 32GB of 2133ghz Ram, 4.2ghz quad core processor. Origineel geplaatst door Nirvash:So this is an issue I've had since launch, but never been able to find a solution. That's why I'm trying to ask a more specific and focused version of the question. But if I do that, I get bad unplayable frame drops. The solution is, play in your native resolution. Many people get the letterbox specifically in Payday 2 if they don't use their native resolution. If you could Google the solutions as I just did, why are you asking here?īecause there is no solution for my problem. There's no reason itself you should have letterboxing matching the aspect ratio of your native format. Like I said, 1080p and 720p are both in 16:9 format. The thing I mentioned before about the colors being slightly off and the picture being slightly blurry, is because I'm set on a 16:9 resolution on a 16:9 screen, but it's letterboxing it and squashing the image down for whatever reason. And since this is the solution most people need, no one goes far enough for mine. The solution for people is always changing to the native resolution, which, as we know isn't the solution I need. If you search "Payday 2 black bars" then you'll see alot of examples. It's been an issue with people since launch. Is there any way I can get non-native resolutions to work properly? I've tried searching all over, but I just can't find a solution. My performance will be perfect (other than problem points that everyone lags in) in the lower resolution, but the letterbox and colors just make it ugly to play. Now, if I go just one step down in resolution, or any res at all other than the native one, the game gets these black bars, or a letterbox on the top and bottom, and the picture looks kind of fuzzy and the colors are slightly off. So this is an issue I've had since launch, but never been able to find a solution.
